Transformative Intentions

with Bridgette Shaw-Bane

Early-bird (paid before December 18, 2016): $30. Regular: $37.

SOLD OUT!

CONNECT TO THE TRUE POTENTIAL WITHIN YOU & FULFILL YOUR GREATEST DREAMS.

The New Year is a great time to come back to, or set new intentions or goals. Knowing & working with the seed of your intention is a powerful way to re-program old patterns, and create new more effective and positive habits.

This workshop will include ancient techniques to open the path to the unconscious and uncover an authentic intention - called a Sankalpa. The word "Sankalpa" comes from: “San”, which means that which resonates with spirit, and “Kalpa”, which is an intention. The goal of the Sankalpa practice is to plant your intention into the depths of your unconscious, helping you to realize your life’s purpose and manifest it into your living with grace and ease. This transformative practice will begin a shift in all aspects of your life: personal, professional, emotional, and spiritual.

Bridgette will begin the workshop with a brief discussion around intention setting, and then guide you into a restorative yoga practice leading into a state of openness and relaxation. Using a special meditation, which includes mantra (sound) and mudra (hand gestures), to access your heart's deepest desires and then plant the seed of your intention there.

You will leave with an understanding of how to continue to work with your Sankalpa at home and how to integrate it into your practice with us beyond this workshop, to ignite a more powerful transformation in your life.

Sunday December 18, 12:30-1:45pm

By resting your awareness on specific areas of the body in conjunction with visualization and silent mantra, you will start to direct your energy and consciousness inward and prepare your mind for meditation. There will also be pranayama (breath work) to help quiet the mind and a special meditation my teacher has recently shared with us to draw the light in and let it turn the darkness, that may be sitting in our minds or hearts right now, into light. We will sit in silent meditation together and then ground using mantra and mudra (hand gestures).

Pay what you can. Bring a friend. Let your light shine. Please register in advance to reserve your spot, and so that we have a sense of how many people to expect!

May 14, 2-6pm: Chakra Awarness, with Bridgette Shaw-Bane

$85. Only 5 spots Left!

Chakras are energy centers that relate to physical locations, mental states, emotional experiences, and our relationship with self and others. There are many different ways to access the chakras and help to bring balance to them. We will explore them through discussion, asana practice, meditation, sound, and visualization. There will also be lecture and Q&A components, as well as time to discuss, reflect and integrate chakra awareness into your life and practice.

The chakras are something that seem to be a topic that comes up occasionally in yoga classes or we see pictures of them~ a recent series was just hanging on our walls at the studio! So what exactly are they? What do they have to do with yoga? How do they affect you? Where are they? Why should we integrate them into our life and our practice? Come to this 4 hour workshop to start to explore these questions. The yogis believe that we are not just a physical body. We are an energy body and a body that holds a spirit, or soul. How we experience the world and move through it affects all 3 bodies. When we start to understand how these all relate to each other, we can start to bring more balance to our lives.

Attendees will receive a take-home packet that gives a breakdown of the information covered in class, and some recommended readings to allow you to continue your studies on your own. This is a great workshop for those with an existing yoga practice, looking to deepen their self awareness and understanding of the chakras.

-- John Muir

Want to unroll your mat on unexplored terrain and breathe in the fresh mountain air? Feel the grounding earth energies surround you as you move through a special yoga practice? How about hike to a secluded location where the chaos of city life is left behind?

The hike we hope to explore is named Little Highwood Pass in Kananaskis country, so long as the weather stays on our side.  This is a beautiful hike to do this time of year as it gives you a great view of the changing and colorful Larch trees, and a breathtaking view of surrounding mountain peaks and gorgeous valleys. It's a moderate hike with some rough terrain, but a mostly cleared path that is accessible for most hikers.

From our space in Bowness, through the mountain trails, sun salutations, stretches, and more, you can feel safe and comfortable with a professional hiking guide and a yoga instructor by your side. The group is limited to 13 attendees, so you can be sure to have a more personal experience.

*Attendees should remember that we are outdoors and properly prepare for the elements. It is recommended to bring layered clothing, rain gear, proper footwear, bug spray, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, water and your mat. Though your mat will smooth the surface a bit, we will still be practicing yoga on raw earth, and bumps and uneven ground should be expected.*
